Building skills for service and security.
Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU), Lucknow Campus is established to strengthen internal security education and training in Uttar Pradesh. The campus focuses on developing “Karmyogi” youth by enhancing the skills, discipline and preparedness required to serve in police and security forces.
The campus offers specialised training in Police Administration, Cyber Security, Digital Forensics, Industrial Security, Physical Education and Sports. Its programmes prepare students for competitive examinations and professional careers while fostering physical fitness, mental resilience and national values.
Open to curious learners.
- DSMNRU and RRU students from all disciplines may participate in the cybersecurity awareness sessions and CTF.
- Students from invited external colleges may participate subject to approval from DSMNRU or RRU.
Inclusive education with social responsibility.
Dr. Shakuntala Misra National Rehabilitation University, established by the Government of Uttar Pradesh in 2008, is a highly innovative university that proactively brings academia and social responsibility together under one umbrella. This creates opportunities to translate ideas into action, take science to soil, and move from lab to land. First of its kind in India, the University offers accessible, world-class higher education and addresses the educational needs of persons with disabilities in an inclusive and supportive academic environment.
A collaborative cybersecurity programme.
Dr. Shakuntala Misra National Rehabilitation University (DSMNRU), Lucknow, in collaboration with Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU), is organizing a cybersecurity programme comprising hands-on workshops and the university-level Capture the Flag (CTF) competition “Astra Attack Arena 2.0”. The programme aims to create awareness about cyber risks, build practical cyber skills, and provide an engaging platform for students to apply their learning through a CTF competition.
Learn safely. Practise responsibly.
- Create cybersecurity awareness among students from technical and non-technical backgrounds.
- Educate students about cybercrime, fraud, digital safety, and responsible online behaviour.
- Develop practical skills in cyber investigation, OSINT, and core cybersecurity tools.
- Provide hands-on training and preparation for CTF challenges.
- Conduct a university-level CTF to encourage practical learning, teamwork, and problem-solving.
Supported by cybersecurity expertise.
The technical organization and conduct of the workshops and the CTF (Astra Attack Arena 2.0) will be supported by an external cybersecurity organization with relevant expertise in cybersecurity training, CTF platform management, challenge development, and event management, in collaboration with DSMNRU and RRU.
What is a CTF?
A Capture The Flag (CTF) is a cybersecurity learning competition. Participants solve deliberately prepared puzzles and find hidden “flags” by applying clues and concepts—not by attacking real people, public websites or university systems. Challenges may introduce web security, digital forensics, cryptography, networking and investigation. You can learn the basics in the workshop before trying the competition.
Why take part in the workshop?
- Build everyday cyber-safety habits for accounts, devices, privacy and online payments.
- Learn how to spot phishing, impersonation, scams and suspicious digital activity.
- Try practical, guided exercises and understand how to investigate digital clues responsibly.
- Get an approachable introduction to security topics that are difficult to learn from theory alone.
- Meet other learners, collaborate in teams and discover which areas of cybersecurity interest you.
Curiosity, with boundaries.
All competition activity must stay within the event-provided challenges and systems. No prior CTF experience is required to learn in the workshop. Follow organiser instructions and ask before attempting anything outside the authorised environment.
